Polish Chronicles – So that time does not fade away and oblivion is a series of boards devoted to important events in the history of Poland. The Polish NKVD operation is an event that was censored during the years of Soviet occupation. It was not taught in schools because it destroyed the propaganda myth about friendship and brotherhood between Poland and the Soviet Union. Polish operation of the NKVD – aimed primarily at Poles, the so-called nationality operation of the NKVD, committed by order of the People’s Commissar of Internal Affairs of the USSR No. 00485 of August 11, 1937, issued by the then People’s Commissar of the NKVD Nikolai Yezhov, carried out on the territory of the USSR in 1937-1938 during the period of Great Terror. According to NKVD documents, 139,835 people were sentenced, of which no less than 111,091 Poles – USSR citizens – were murdered with a shot to the back of the head, and 28,744 were sentenced to stay in labor camps. The sentences were carried out immediately. Poles living in the Ukrainian SSR and Byelorussian SSR were deported en masse, including: to Kazakhstan and Siberia.

Description
A stylized board with a wax seal suspended on strings. The form of the fixtures is based on the traditional method of hanging wall publications on wooden rods, but we have used our own modification. The upper and lower sleeves housing the support bars are connected with decorative metal rivets. As in all our board publications, the paper is coated on both sides with a refined, matte laminate, which strengthens it and protects it against moisture and dust. Wooden bars topped with knobs with metal fittings. Author’s binding of Pergamena Publishing House with a decorative string for hanging.
